Chứng chỉ đắt giá Architect

Ngày 14/10/2009 Cisco vừa cho ra lò một chứng chỉ mới toanh, chứng chỉ Architect. Để có được chứng chỉ này thì người thi phải có chứng chỉ CCDE (chuyên về thiết kế hệ thống) cộng với 3750 cho khảo thí đợt một qua điện thoại (thấy 3750 giống giống con router switch layer 3 quá). Sau khi khi pass qua đợt 1 thí sinh phải đóng tiếp 11,250$ cho khảo thí đợt 2 trước hội đồng giám khảo. Nếu may mắn pass qua được cả 3 đợt (tính luôn CCDE) thì thí sinh sẽ có được bằng đắt giá nhất của Cisco từ trước tới nay.

Tổng thiệt hại để đạt được bằng Architect
= 350(CCDE written) + 1400 (CCDE Practical) + 3750 (thi đợt I Architect) + 11250 (thi đợt II Architect) =16750$ * 19300 = 323.275.000 (đ).

Between each level of the "pyramid" for all the Cisco certifications we have come to know and love, there are always differences: Professional levels are harder than Associate levels; Expert levels are harder than that. And now there's the Architect level. But it's not so much a difference in difficulty as it is a difference in focus. The focus at the highest level is more about business then it is about any specific product or technology. And having been in many roles over the years, I can see that skillset as a valuable one to have--but now it's one can be measured and certified.


Stage 1 – Application

1. Begin process by submitting non-refundable Application (Stage 1) payment - $3,750 USD
2. After payment has been processed, candidate will be contacted via email (using the address provided during the CCDE Practical Exam Registration)with information about how to submit resume, project summary, and supporting information.
3. Once the resume, project summary, and supporting information has been submitted, candidate will be contacted to schedule a telephone interview.
4. Cisco Certified Architect team and candidate will conduct telephone interview to discuss background and project submission.
5. Candidate will be scored based on submission and interview.
6. Judges will determine if candidate is accepted into the program.
7. Candidate will be notified of the results within 14 calendar days following the Application Interview. If candidate is accepted, a date and location for the Board Exam will be scheduled, and candidate will receive approval to proceed to Stage 2; if candidate is not accepted, the board will provide guidelines for when candidate may re-apply.

Stage 2 – Architectural Challenge and Board Exam


Candidate can schedule the board exam anytime after he/she has completed Stage 1 and has paid in full. Board exams will be administered once per quarter based upon limited availability.

1. Begin process by submitting non-refundable Board Exam (Stage 2) payment - $11,250 USD. A payment link will be provided to the candidate upon completion of Stage 1.
2. Candidate will receive Architectural Challenge documents.
3. Candidate will respond to the Architectural Challenge within 14 calendar days of receipt of materials. During this 14 day period the candidate can interact with the board (i.e., request further documents and/or information). If the board feels the request is appropriate, they will provide the additional information to the candidate.
4. Once the board receives the submission, the response will be scored according to defined rubrics and will be used for preparation for the in-person board exam.
5. Candidate will appear before the board (panel of three judges). The board exam will consist of the following steps:
   a. Candidate will present design solution (60 minutes)
   b. Candidate will respond to questions from the board (60 minutes)
   c. Candidate will receive a “what-if” change to the original architectural challenge (15 minutes)
   d. Candidate will create solution based on new requirements (165 minutes)
   e. Candidate will present and defend new solution (60 minutes)
6. Board will score candidate according to defined rubrics, aggregate scores, compare aggregate score to performance standard cut score.
7. Candidate will be notified of the results within 14 calendar days following the Board Exam.
